Dear Fellow O.I.B.A Members,
Mission Possible...a new vision and mission for the OIBA plus IBAO Convention is in Ottawa this year!
This year promises to be a big year for our City and our Association for many reasons. Ottawa is the host for the 97th Annual IBAO Convention. I can’t think of a better city and venue to host this event for the first time in over 18 years. I hope you will take this opportunity to come out and support our industry. Convention is the perfect platform for us as an industry to really shine and an outstanding opportunity to come together and network with peers.
The OIBA recently held our annual strategic planning session. The focus was on creating a Vision Statement and working with a new Mission Statement. I would like to thank the Board for all the time they put into this. It was a great team effort and the following is our Vision and Mission statements that evolved from the meeting:
Vision: A unified voice that promotes our Broker Members as leaders in the industry.
Mission: To ensure the prominence of our members and the long term success of the Independent Broker Channel through networking opportunities, information sharing, political advocacy and involvement in local community initiatives.
Our Mission Statement is the foundation of everything we do as a board and I believe our new direction is clearly articulated in our new mission statement. With the tremendous support of our Associate Members, we continue to aim high and strive to be the leading insurance association in Ontario. We simply cannot do what we do without the buy-in of all our members.
Communication is key to our success. We will continue to communicate with you on an ongoing basis and will hope for your participation. Your feedback is always welcomed. This enables us to measure our success, so please feel free to contact me or any member of the OIBA Board of Directors at any time.
We are at your service.
Founded in 1910, the Ottawa Insurance Brokers Association (OIBA) is a voluntary membership organization serving the interests of independent insurance brokers in the Eastern Ontario region. Each member is served at three levels: The OIBA, the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) and the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC).
The IBAO has a membership of more than 10,000 independent insurance brokers across the Province of Ontario and represents the interests or OIBA members to government ministries and regulatory bodies, as well as to insurance industry commissions and associations.
The IBAC considers the needs of Ontario's independent brokers when new policy shifts are introduced by the Canadian government or the insurance industry.
Working together, the three associations build and maintain a business environment that allows individual brokerages to thrive.
